Ian is publishing new images first shown at his recent exhibition. The original oil paintings are currently not for sale but Ian has produced two stunning canvas giclées in his own studio. These are full size (56cm sq), varnished by hand and stretched. One, Cornish Farm, is inspired by his native Cornwall, distant landscapes and bright seas. Channel Markers is a study in pastel shades of shallow tides and warm sand. He is also reproducing the watercolour Blue Tamar, inspired by the eponymous valley near his home and one of a series of misty mornings and low light.
If you're interested in Ian's work and want to know more about these atmospheric prints contact us (details above). To see the images in more detail, see the new work gallery (right).

Watercolour Workshops
This autumn we're exploring watercolour in seven sessions per half term. Beginners and experienced painters welcome. We'll be looking at a range of applications and techniques, papers, boards and other media, inks, acrylics etc.
The new half term started Wednesday 2nd November, from 10.00 - 1.00, with a whole day session on the 14th December in Whitchurch Community Hall, Tavistock. Just opposite the Church and village pub.
Next term - January 2012
We're planning the new term starting on the 4th January 012. This will be in two 6-week sessions each side of half term. Importantly, due to demand, we're hosting morning and afternoon sessions: from 10.00-1.00 and from 2.00-5.00. This gives enthusiastic painters a whole day if preferred, and makes room for new faces too. If you're interested, contact Ian at the studio for more details.
We're also planning a Plymouth area workshop for different days.
Ian is also available for demonstrations at other established art groups. Please contact for details.
Please keep our page bookmarked and keep watching for more details.

Ian's books are available in bookshops and other outlets throughout Devon and Cornwall. His first, Classic Boats of the West Country is in its second edition. He has also written and illustrated Cornish Ports and Harbours as well as his humorous collections, Cornish Cats and Devon Dogs. They will be available on line shortly along with signed prints of some of the images.
